It all began in 1975 when Pierre Fabre discovered the thermal waters of Avène.
It was then that this pioneering and caring man pledged to share the soothing benefits of this water with as many people as possible.

Since its discovery in 1736, Avène Thermal Spring Water has become known for its soothing, softening and anti-irritating properties that have since been demonstrated by over 150 fundamental and clinical studies.

Discovery of the Sainte-Odile Spring.
1871
America in turn marvels at the virtues of Avène Thermal Spring Water, which relieves the injuries of burn victims of the Chicago fire.
1874
The French National Academy of Medicine endorses the therapeutic properties of Avène Thermal Spring Water, which is declared a "Source of Public Interest".
1990
Renovation of the thermal baths and opening of the Avène Hydrotherapy Center. Creation of the Eau Thermale Avène brand.

PLACE
At the Avene hydrotherapy Center, located a few steps from the spring in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, Pierre Fabre launched scientific hydrotherapy using the Avène Thermal Spring Water. The idea was simple: combine thermal water and scientific research, while carrying out hydrotherapy under medical supervision.

And it is also here that 30 years ago Pierre Fabre embarked on the incredibly ambitious project of developing cosmetic skin care products inspired by pharmaceutical standards.
